Over the past three months, our team has worked closely with Zagreb Airport’s Wildlife Hazard Management team through weekly coordination calls. Together, we’ve fine-tuned camera positioning, refined detection protocols, and developed best practices for staff response—ensuring the system is perfectly aligned with the airport’s operational needs.

The numbers tell a compelling story: we’ve achieved an average true positive rate exceeding 90%. This means that 90 times out of 100, when BCMS® triggers an alert, it’s because there’s actually a bird requiring attention—enabling staff to intervene promptly and effectively. With a detection acquisition range of 3 km, the system provides ample time for assessment and response, particularly for wildlife approaching critical areas.
Innovation in Action: ADS-B Integration
One of the most significant achievements has been the integration of our cameras with ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast). This innovation allows the system to automatically orient cameras during takeoffs and landings—the most critical phases of flight—to verify that runways and surrounding areas are clear of wildlife hazards precisely when it matters most.
