What leads the company
Four disciplines lead the company's development
THE EDGE COMPANY is an Italian deep-tech company. It designs and builds in Rimini, with a data and analysis center in Venice.
Flight safety
The method began in flight safety, at a fighter wing of the Italian Air Force, and was later entrusted to cameras and artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence
Researchers and developers build the models and retrain each site's model on that site's own annotated footage.
Biology
Biologists build the knowledge of birds the models use and check samples of the detections.
Data science
Data analysts from the natural sciences review the reports customers receive. Every figure traces back to a recorded event.

Fabio Masci founded the company in 2017 and leads it
A retired Italian Air Force lieutenant colonel and fighter pilot, he ran flight safety at a fighter wing. In 2026 a paper by him and the data analysis team was presented at the Wildlife Strike International Conference in Naples.
